The world-building around the demons and magic is so detailed that I wondered if the romantic tension suffered a bit for it. Did others feel the same or was it perfectly balanced?

The setting feels both familiar and sinister, and I’m curious whether this choice was driven by a desire to explore moral ambiguity or something else.

Some chapters were adrenaline-pumping, while others slowed down for introspection. I wonder if that pacing was intentional to deepen the emotional impact.
