The variety of birds and stories in the book are so rich and vivid. I'm curious what drew Montgomery to explore these particular creatures and their personalities.

The way the author portrays their intelligence and quirks made me see these birds differently. I wonder if others found themselves rooting for the 'underdogs' of the bird world.

Montgomery seamlessly weaves facts with her own adventures, but I wonder if she planned that mix from the beginning or let the stories evolve naturally during writing.
