The story hints at a magical realism vibe, but I wonder how much of that was planned from the start versus evolving during writing.

I loved the slow build, but some parts seemed to jump ahead. Was that intentional to keep the story moving?

The town feels so vivid and lived-in. I'm curious whether the author based it on a real location or created it entirely from imagination.
