The way the abilities are described feels so visceral and real. I wonder what inspired the specific powers and the rules around them.

The suspense kept me hooked, but I kept wondering how much of that was intentional to mirror the protagonist's inner conflict. What do others think?

The mix of the mundane school life with supernatural elements was really compelling. I’d love to know if the author based it on a real place or created it from scratch.
