When Day Breaks

The story took a bit to pick up again after the initial tension. I’m curious if the author planned it that way to build suspense or if it’s just how the story evolved.

The blackout added such a tense atmosphere, but I wonder if that was based on personal experience or a deliberate choice to heighten suspense.

The clues were subtle, but I didn’t see that ending coming. Did others pick up on any hints beforehand?
