The story jumps between different eras, and I'm curious whether the author had a particular historical event or legend in mind that sparked the idea.

While I appreciated the depth, I found myself wanting more of the action. Was that balance intentional to build atmosphere?

The authenticity added a lot to the story, but I wonder what guided the choices about what to focus on or leave out in the research.
