The book manages to be funny while still giving readers chills—I'm curious whether that was a conscious choice or just how the story evolved.

There are definitely some spooky scenes that had me wondering if they might scare younger readers more than intended. What do others think about the book's scariness level?

Usually, monsters are mean or scary, but these 'creeps' are different. I'm interested in what motivated that creative twist.
