The characters are so morally complex that I found myself rooting for some of them, despite their actions. Is that feeling intentional or a reflection of the writing style?

The dark, gritty atmosphere really immerses you but also raises questions about right and wrong. Does the tone make the story more impactful or harder to relate to?
