The cozy, intimate setting added charm to the story, but I wonder if it was also a way to heighten the sense of community and secrets. Did the author always envision this as a small-town love story?

The sparks flew from the first page, but sometimes it felt like the connection was too instant. Is that just a hallmark of this genre or did the author craft it this way intentionally?
