The tension ramped up so fast in the later parts that I almost couldn't keep up. Was that intentional to keep the adrenaline going or did it feel a bit rushed?

The world-building is so detailed and unique — I wonder what sources or ideas influenced Frost's take on vampires and supernatural powers.
