The way the characters' feelings evolved made me wonder if they realized their connection was genuine before they did. Has anyone else experienced that kind of shift in a story?

The high school setting really added to the tension and innocence of the romance. I'm curious whether that was a personal choice or driven by the genre expectations.

I loved how certain scenes subverted common clichés, but I wonder if the author intentionally played with those expectations or if it evolved naturally.
