The city of Gent feels alive with its own secrets, but I'm curious whether the setting was inspired by real events or a love for the place.

I enjoyed the rich detail, but at times I wondered if those parts could have been more concise without losing depth.

The story kept me guessing, but I also felt connected to the characters’ personal journeys. Was this a deliberate effort to keep both elements engaging?
