The world Moody creates feels so visceral and immersive. I'm curious whether real-world fears or events influenced his vision of the future.

In such a dangerous world, I expected more suspicion, but the characters seemed to form bonds surprisingly fast. Was that a deliberate choice to highlight hope or desperation?

The characters are forced into impossible choices, blurring right and wrong. Did anyone else find themselves questioning what they would do in similar circumstances?
