His layered personality added depth and intrigue, but I'm curious what the author envisioned as the core of his struggle.

The paranormal aspects definitely heightened the emotional stakes, but I wonder if that also made it harder to connect with the characters at times.

At times, the mystery kept me on edge, but I’d love to know if the pacing was intentionally designed to swing between these elements.
