The book covers so many tragic moments; I'm curious how he decided which stories to focus on and what might have been left out.

The factual depth added a layer of immediacy, but I wonder if it ever risked overwhelming readers or if it was necessary for understanding.

The parallels drawn in Bloodlands are powerful but also unsettling. I'm interested in what motivated him to frame their regimes side by side.
