The way the past and present are connected kept me hooked, but I wonder if this was planned from the start or evolved during writing.

I loved the rich history, but at times the pacing felt a bit slow. Was that intentional to build atmosphere?

The concept is fascinating, and I wonder what motivated the author to blend these genres in this way.
