The ending completely changes how I viewed the whole investigation. Did anyone see it coming, or was it a total surprise?

I loved trying to piece together the mystery, but the clues were so subtly placed. I wonder what inspired her to structure the story this way?

There was a lot of dialogue and setup, but it built tension effectively. Was this deliberate to mislead readers or just natural storytelling?
