The Island

The isolated island adds so much tension and atmosphere. I wonder if the author based it on a real place or created it entirely from imagination.

The suspense built up strongly at the start and end, but I found the middle a bit slow. Was that intentional to deepen character development?

The point of view choices really influenced the tone and mystery. I wonder what led to the decision to tell it this way and how it affected the suspense.
