The characters' motivations felt layered and realistic, but I'm curious what inspired the author to make them so morally ambiguous.

I loved the detailed procedural work, but some parts felt a bit slow. Was that intentional to build tension or to reflect real police work?

The small-town atmosphere added a lot to the story's mood. I wonder if the author based it on a real place or created it entirely from imagination.
