The balance between romance and thriller kept me hooked, but I wonder if that was a deliberate choice to deepen the emotional stakes or a natural result of the story.

The characters' pain felt so raw and real, but it also made me question how much trauma is necessary to drive a mystery plot. Am I alone in feeling overwhelmed at times?

The sense of place really added to the suspense, but I’m curious whether the author based it on a real location or created it from imagination to heighten the mystery.
