The descriptions really brought the town to life, making it feel like a place I’d love to visit. How much of the setting was inspired by real places or just imagined?

It’s a fresh take on ghost stories, and I wonder if the author intentionally wanted to subvert typical ghost tropes or if it grew out of the characters themselves.
