The way Abby struggles with her altered perceptions made me wonder if the author wanted to really put us in her shoes. Did anyone else find the setting as unsettling as I did?

It was heartbreaking to see her question what's real and what's not. I'm curious whether this was meant to symbolize trauma or something else entirely.
