I loved how detailed the underwater society was, but at times it felt like a lot to take in all at once. Did others find the setting easy to follow or a bit dense?

The social stratification felt very relevant to current issues, but I wonder what personal experiences or research influenced these themes.

The pacing felt just right for me, but I'm curious whether the shifts between adrenaline-pumping scenes and quieter character moments were planned from the start.
