Cross My Heart and Never Lie

The story feels both light and meaningful, which isn't easy to pull off in a middle grade comic. I'm curious about the creative process behind that tone.

I wondered if younger readers interpret the 'lies' more literally while older readers see the emotional layers. What’s been the general response from different age groups?

The symbols add so much depth and clarity. I’d love to know if these were planned from the beginning or evolved during illustration.
