There were so many factions and rules, and I found myself rereading parts to keep track. Did the author intend for this complexity or was it a side effect of the story?

The chemistry was there, but it didn't dominate the story. I'm curious if balancing action and romance was a deliberate choice or just how the story evolved.

The integration of magic into modern society felt fresh and immersive. I wonder if real-world magic systems or folklore influenced these choices.
