Two Lives of Charlemagne

Einhard’s perspective gives us a personal view of Charlemagne’s reign, but I wonder what motivated him to document this history so thoroughly.

His actions seem to blend both strength and kindness, making me curious about how modern leaders might draw lessons from his example.

Considering the time it was written, I wonder how much of Einhard’s perspective was shaped by political or personal motives and how that influences our understanding of Charlemagne.
