Tryon’s subtle psychological horror really sticks with me. I wonder what choices he made to build that quiet, creeping terror.

The way the story blurs the line between innocence and evil made me question how well I really knew the characters. Am I the only one who felt uneasy about sympathizing with them?

The isolated small-town atmosphere added so much to the mood. I’m curious whether the author based this on a real place or just created it from imagination.
