The tension between the characters felt intense but also showed moments of vulnerability. Did the emotional depth catch others off guard?

The way the characters are forced together creates so much tension but also intimacy. I wonder if this was planned from the start or developed during writing.

It felt like the slow burn was worth it, but I'm curious if others felt the same or if the transition from enemies to lovers was too quick.
