I loved the setting and characters, but I guessed the culprit pretty quickly. Was the story more about the journey than the surprise?

It really brought the small-town vibe alive, but I wonder if that was inspired by real places or just a fun backdrop.

The initial excitement was great, but the middle chapters felt a bit slow. Do you think that was intentional to build suspense?
