The depiction of different social classes felt very vivid and authentic. I wonder if real historical research influenced this or if it was more of a creative choice.

While I appreciated the detailed social context, the slower moments made me wonder if that was intentional to build atmosphere or a pacing challenge.

The setting adds a lot of character to the novel, but I’m curious whether the author had a specific historical event or location in mind that sparked the story.
