Dean Koontz often blends horror with philosophy; I'm curious what sparked the idea for the paranormal aspects and how they drive the story's message.

Some characters seemed to blur the lines between good and evil, which made me question who really had the right intentions. Was this intentional to challenge typical hero-villain roles?

The book manages to be both terrifying and touching at times. I wonder what led to the decision to include such heartfelt moments amidst the suspense.
