The comedic timing seems spot-on for kids, but I wonder if Patterson considered how different kids might respond to certain types of humor or if he tested these jokes beforehand.

This book clearly builds on the first, but I’m interested in what motivated the author to continue the story in this direction and how he decided on the new comedic style.
