Gotham Central, Book Two

Gotham Central is known for its focus on police work, but the emotional depth added a lot. I'm curious how much of that was planned from the start or evolved during writing.

There were moments when I questioned whether the cops' methods crossed lines, which made me wonder about the real-life parallels. Did others find themselves rooting for or questioning the protagonists?

Seeing the city from the cops’ perspective added a fresh angle, but I wonder what drew the author to tell this story through their eyes instead of the hero.
