Fire's struggle with her identity and her human emotions added depth to her character. I'm curious what inspired the way her powers were intertwined with her emotional journey.

The closeness of the characters amplified the tension, but it also made some of their vulnerabilities more intense. Did the setting and circumstances make this story feel more real?

The world-building felt so vivid and lived-in, and I wonder if the author drew from real-world firefighting or disaster scenarios or created it entirely from imagination.
