Don't Turn Around

Switching between two characters' points of view kept me guessing and heightened the tension. I wonder if this was planned from the start or evolved during writing.

The buildup was intense, but I felt the middle dragged a bit. Was that intentional to develop character depth or just pacing choices?

The isolation added so much to the suspense, but I’m curious whether the author drew from personal experiences or research.
