It was interesting to see a character with so much power also show moments of doubt and tenderness. What inspired this balance in his personality?

The setup seemed classic, but I wondered if the author intentionally played with expectations or aimed for a certain surprise factor.

His guarded nature made sense given his background, but I’m curious how much of that was developed intentionally or just a common trope.
