Wrong Turn

The story moves at a breakneck speed, but I wonder if that was planned from the start or evolved as the story developed. How does pacing influence the suspense?

The protagonist’s trustworthiness really kept me on edge, but I kept questioning what was real. Was this intentional, or did it develop naturally as the story progressed?

The isolated environment added so much to the suspense. I’m curious whether the author drew from real places or crafted it entirely from imagination.
