I appreciated the faith-based aspects without feeling preachy, but I wonder how the author approached integrating these seamlessly into the suspense.

The story seemed to take a breather before picking up again—was that a deliberate choice to build tension or just my reading experience?

The small-town vibe added so much to the suspense; I’d love to know if the author based it on a real place or created it from imagination.
