The world-building was lush, but I found myself most drawn to the chemistry between the characters. Was that intentional, to prioritize their relationship over the magic system?

Some chapters felt more focused on the love story, while others delved into fae politics and magic. I wonder how the pacing was planned to maintain interest in both aspects.
