The medieval period is full of complex characters and conflicts. I'm curious what drew Elizabeth Chadwick to this era and how she brought it to life.

The story seemed to focus heavily on the power struggles, but I was expecting a bit more chemistry. Did others find the romance believable or a bit secondary?
