The atmosphere feels so authentic and tense; I wonder if real events or locations influenced the author's choices or if it's purely fictional.

The shifting alliances and secret motives made me question who was really on which side. Was that the point?

The alternating viewpoints added layers to the plot, but I’m curious if that was planned from the start or evolved during writing.
