His personality and backstory feel so distinct from other Oz characters. I wonder what inspired Baum to create him this way.

The lighthearted tone made the adventure feel so joyful, but I’m curious if others felt the same sense of playfulness throughout.

The shift in settings added variety, but I wonder if Baum planned this structure from the start or if it evolved during writing.
