Mike Mignola's blending of folklore and horror creates such a unique universe. I wonder what sources or stories influenced his design of Hellboy's world.

The story balances action and atmosphere so well, but I’m curious if others found the slower moments effective or if they wanted more action.

The artwork's dark, stark style really sets the tone. I wonder if this was a conscious choice to evoke a sense of mystery and dread.
