Reilly's descriptions are so vivid — I wonder if he drew from real military tactics or personal experiences to craft these scenes.

The action kept me hooked, but I was curious about the backstory of Hell Island itself. Was that intentionally kept vague for suspense?

Their training and tactics seemed very authentic. I wonder if the author based some of them on real personnel or military history.
