The tension slowly ratcheted up, making it hard to put the book down. I'm curious whether this was a conscious choice or evolved naturally during writing.

Some of the characters' decisions made me question how well we can really know those closest to us. Am I the only one who found myself second-guessing motivations?

The mood felt so claustrophobic and intense — was that based on real places or purely fictional? I wonder what led to the choice of this particular environment.
