A Galaxy Unknown

The detailed world-building really drew me in, but I wonder if the author based it on any real-world history or entirely from imagination.

Some of the battle scenes felt very vivid, but I'm curious whether these strategies were inspired by real military theories or purely fictional.

I loved the moments that slowed down for character introspection, but sometimes I wished the plot moved a bit faster. Was this intentional for pacing or character depth?
