The magic feels so vibrant and integral to the world. I wonder if the author based it on any particular folklore or created it from scratch.

His growth felt very authentic, but I’m curious if others saw parallels to their own experiences of finding where they belong.

The world felt so lived-in and detailed, I’d love to know if the author visualized it all from the start or developed it as she wrote.
