Staying Dirty

The story deals with very heavy topics, and I wondered how the author managed to portray both the darkness and hope without overwhelming the reader.

Their flaws and pasts made it hard to fully connect, but at the same time, I couldn’t turn away. Was that intentional or just my own hesitation?

The dual timelines added depth but also complexity. I’m curious whether this was planned from the start or developed during writing.
