Shifter's Sacrifice

The world-building around the shifter community felt rich and immersive. I'm curious whether this was based on existing mythology or entirely from the author's imagination.

The emotional stakes felt high, but I wondered if the balance between passion and vulnerability was intentional or just how the characters developed.
