I’m curious about what inspired the choices in setting and characters to reflect contemporary Brooklyn while staying true to the original story's core.

The book highlights class differences in a way that felt very relevant today, but I wondered if that made some characters' choices more complicated or frustrating.

There were some heartfelt scenes that really made me root for the characters—I'm curious which parts resonated the most with others.
